Egodi Privacy Policy
Effective August 18, 2026 · Updated August 22, 2026 · Applies to the Egodi application and coaching service
Egodi is an AI financial coach for households. Household members connect their financial accounts, set a shared budget, and receive coaching messages by email and SMS. This policy explains what data Egodi collects, how it is used, and the rights every user has.
Information we collect
- Account and contact information: your name, email address, and mobile phone number, provided by you at signup with your consent.
- Financial account data via Plaid: when you connect a bank or card account, we receive transaction and balance data through Plaid. Egodi never sees, collects, or stores your bank username or password - credentials are entered only within Plaid’s secure interface. Plaid’s handling of your data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
- Data you create in Egodi: budgets, savings goals, preferences, and replies to Egodi’s messages.
How we use it
Solely to operate Egodi for your household: categorizing your transactions, comparing spending to the budget you set, generating your coaching messages, and measuring your own progress against your own history. We do not use your data for advertising, and we never sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Consent
Egodi collects and processes your data only with your express consent, given at signup and when you connect accounts through Plaid Link. In a shared household, each member consents individually before receiving messages or having their connected accounts included. You may withdraw consent at any time, and there is more than one way to do it: disconnect a bank or exclude a single account from the budget, pause your own text messages, leave the household, or delete your account entirely - all from Settings, and all effective immediately.
Service providers
Egodi uses a small set of providers strictly to operate: Plaid (bank connectivity), Anthropic (message drafting), Twilio (SMS delivery), Google (email delivery), and GitHub and managed cloud hosting providers (infrastructure). Each processes only the data required to perform its function.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to systems that store or process user data is restricted to authorized Egodi personnel and protected by multi-factor authentication. Egodi maintains a documented information security policy covering access control, secrets handling, incident response, and vendor management.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained only while your household is enrolled. On request - or when you close your account - Egodi removes its Plaid connections (revoking access to your financial data at the source), deletes stored financial and derived data, and removes your contact information from delivery systems. Deletion requests are honored within 30 days: support@egodi.app.
Your rights
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@egodi.app. Where state privacy laws (such as the CCPA/CPRA) apply, you have the rights those laws provide; Egodi does not sell personal information, so no opt-out of sale is needed.
Changes and contact
Material changes to this policy will be posted at this page and announced to enrolled users. Questions: support@egodi.app.
